T.A Pai Management Institute July 11 1995 - April 5 1997 |
In days when making
it to a B-School was the ultimate achievement for an Individual, I was fortunate enough to
be called for at least one of them for an Interview and finally getting through TAPMI. |

Joined TAPMI on 11
July 1995. Day 1 of College was a group photograph. The handsome TAPMI
blokes (ahem!) came out with their best tie's and shirts'. It was Sari's galore for the
Ladies. The Ratio of Girls to Guys was quite unfair, all guys noticed. Obviously the girls thought otherwise !!! Life at TAPMI was the greatest (and I have 87 others who'll 'second' me on that)...We worked hard and we partied hard.

| The First Year was a
toughie ! But life went on thanks to Armugam's
wise cracks and messers VC and Bi-scope. My worst nightmare was an ITAM C but Harkeerat's D's were so comforting those days. We all scraped through year 1, no casualties. April 01, 1996, we all assembled in the main building for a group pix. All dressed up and read to go to our summer placements and more importantly for many, home.. |

Then came year 2. We
were the BIG guys now. Freshers party was loads of fun (ask Dharni and Sanchita). Got
clicked with Diro and Kinny along with Gentleman Jim. Year 2 was loads of fun, hardwork came in form of Episode, Brandscan and Summit. Ashish and Madhavan ensured we had smooth sailing all along. Placements were pretty good. The Cream went to HLL (believe it or not, Kutty), Adi sailed his way into Titan (and later out of it!) and Express & Times Guaranty picked up a truckload. Microland picked up a couple of blokes too. |
| The time between 11
Feb 1997 (Day 3 of placements) and 05 April 1997 (Convocation Day) was undoubtedly the
greatest for many. Courses like Ethics and Managerial Leadership were cakewalks. Catching
the first show of a new flick at VC was tougher. Came 05 April 1997...the D-Day. Kamath's practice sessions ensured that no one screwed up to the march into the hall. There waiting for us was Mrityunjaya Arthereya - the 2 hour convocation address was a killer ! (literally for your's truly - ask Studboy) |

Finally we were all
through. It was tough to believe for many but nevertheless the feeling was awesome. So was
the queue to the Dinner table, later in the evening. The Group photograph is a one to
cherish for all of us. On 05 April 1997, we bid goodbye to each other. But thanks to the WWW and egroups, Class of 97 is still hooked together. |
